The myth
Ushiwakamaru was the childhood name of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, one of Japan's best-loved heroes. Son of Minamoto no Yoshitomo, who was defeated by the Taira, he was spared as a baby and sent to the temple of Kurama near Kyoto to become a monk. In legend he refused that fate: at night, in the Sōjōgadani valley, he learned swordsmanship and strategy from the tengu and their king, Sōjōbō. As a youth he fled north, and later became the brilliant general who defeated the Taira in the Genpei War. The young man's supernatural agility is credited to this training with the mountain spirits.
Why it has this power
A Rare level-7 Wind Warrior with 2300 ATK and 1800 DEF, fusion only: a Karasu-tengu Scout with any Warrior, the pupil joined to his masters. Wind and Feather are the leaps he learned from the tengu; Hammer, the sword. Fused with Benkei, he forms the epic legend of Gojō Bridge.
