Spawn of Orochi
Inspired by: Yamata-no-Orochi, the eight-headed serpent of the Kojiki, and the Ibuki legends that make Shuten-dōji a son of the great serpent.

It only has two heads. For now.

The myth
A two-headed spawn of Orochi is a MYTHENOR creation. The Kojiki and Nihon Shoki mention no children of the serpent: they only tell that Yamata-no-Orochi, with eight heads, eight tails and a body grown with moss and cypress, devoured one daughter a year of the couple Ashinazuchi and Tenazuchi until Susanoo made it drunk and slew it. But popular imagination gave the monster offspring. Medieval legends from the Mount Ibuki area say that after its defeat the serpent fathered a son with a human woman, and that son was the dreaded Shuten-dōji, king of the oni.
Why it has this power
An Uncommon level-6 Darkness Serpent with 2200 ATK and 1900 DEF: a smaller but already dangerous version of the great serpent. It inherits Orochi's Darkness and its Moon and Leviathan constellations. With the Tide Jewel it reaches 2900 attack, nearly the strength of its parent.
Did you know
The Kojiki says Orochi's belly was always smeared with blood and its eyes were red as the hōzuki fruit, the Chinese lantern plant.
