The myth

Tiresias was the famous blind seer of Thebes. There are two ancient explanations for his blindness: Callimachus says he saw Athena bathing and she blinded him, granting him prophecy in return; another version, told by Ovid, says he lived seven years as a woman and, when he settled a dispute between Zeus and Hera, was blinded by the goddess and rewarded by Zeus with sight of the future. He lived seven generations and counseled kings such as Oedipus. In the Odyssey, Persephone let him keep his mind even in Hades, where Odysseus goes to consult him.

Why it has this power

A Common level-4 card with 1100 ATK and 1300 DEF: a frail old man in combat, but hard to surprise, since he already knows what will happen. A Darkness Spellcaster for his blindness and visions, he bears the Moon and Fox constellations. He is ideal for holding the field while spells prepare the blow.

Did you know

In Hades, Tiresias had to drink the sacrificial blood before revealing to Odysseus how to return home.
