The myth

The Opening of the Mouth was one of Egypt's most important funerary rites. According to World History Encyclopedia, a priest recited spells while touching the corpse's mouth with a ceremonial blade, so it could breathe, eat and drink again, and also its arms and legs. The aim was to reanimate the body so the soul could use it in the afterlife. Budge summarizes Book of the Dead chapters in which Thoth assists in this rite, with Ptah untying the bandages and Shu opening the mouth of the dead.

Why it has this power

A common ritual: it offers the Servant of the Broken Sarcophagus, the Blue Faience Ushabti and Ka, the Luminous Double, to summon the Nameless King Awakened, an epic level 8 with 2850 ATK. The materials are the protected body, the servant of the afterlife and the double that must return to its owner.
