The myth

The Scarab of the Rising Sun is the most direct image of Khepri, god of the morning sun, who according to Britannica embodied the sun's transforming power and pushed the disk over the eastern horizon at dawn. Because beetles emerged from inert matter, the scarab symbolized resurrection. Scarab-shaped amulets were worn for protection and to ensure rebirth, and many were buried with mummies bearing inscriptions from the Book of the Dead. This card's golden form belongs to MYTHENOR.

Why it has this power

A rare level 7 Insect of Light with 1900 ATK and 2300 DEF: more shield than attack, like an amulet. Obtained only by fusion: Star-Rolling Scarab plus any Light card, the beetle that finds the sun. Sun beats Moon and Scarab beats Leviathan.

Did you know

Khepri's name was written with the scarab hieroglyph itself.
