The myth

The Copper Automaton is a MYTHENOR creation: ancient Egypt had no robots. But the idea of figures made by human hands that come to life was very Egyptian. Shabtis were meant to spring to life in the afterlife when their owner recited the right spell. In the Westcar Papyrus, a priest shapes a wax crocodile that becomes real when thrown into the lake. The richest tombs even held overseer shabtis, with whips, each in charge of ten workers. A metal royal guard is the game's version of that dream.

Why it has this power

A common level 3 Machine of Thunder, the force that drives its chest, with 1100 ATK and 1200 DEF. Wisp beats Feather and Hammer, the forge of metal, beats Bull. The Embalmer's Bandages, which give Machines +700, raise it to 1800 ATK.

Did you know

In the Third Intermediate Period, the richest tombs could hold 365 worker shabtis and 36 overseers, one for every ten.
