The myth

For the Egyptians, the border between the living and the dead was not closed. Budge summarizes Book of the Dead chapters that gave the dead the power to revisit the earth, join the gods and travel through the sky, and a chapter that let them come back and visit the house they had lived in. The ba could leave the tomb by day and return at night. The Herald Beyond the Veil, who brings news from the other side, not all of it bad, is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by that coming and going.

Why it has this power

An uncommon level 5 Undead of Light with 1600 ATK and 1800 DEF: a messenger who endures more than he strikes. Sun beats Moon and Scarab beats Leviathan. Note: under the Necropolis Under the Lapis Sky he gains +500 as Undead and loses 400 as Light.

Did you know

According to Budge, chapter 132 of the Book of the Dead let the dead return to earth and visit the house they had lived in.
