The myth
The moon had several gods in Egypt. Khonsu, whose name means the traveler, formed an important triad at Thebes; Iah was a lunar god linked to the calendar. A myth tells that Thoth gambled with Iah and won five days of moonlight, which stood outside the year decreed by Ra; in them the goddess Nut could give birth to the gods Osiris, Isis, Set, Nephthys and Horus. So the moon marked the time of night. This card's Daughter of the Moon, who counts the hours and heals by the water, is a MYTHENOR creation.
Why it has this power
An uncommon level 5 Deity of Light, the moon's reflected light, with 1750 ATK and 1700 DEF, nearly balanced. Sun beats Moon and Crown beats Scarab. The Lapis Serpent Staff, with +700 for Deities, raises it to 2450 ATK and 2400 DEF.

The five days Thoth won in his game with Iah explain, in myth, the five extra days of the 365-day Egyptian calendar.
