The myth
The falcon was the noblest bird of Egypt. Horus, the falcon god, had the sun and moon as his eyes and watched the world by day and by night. In the Book of the Dead, the first Transformation chapters let the deceased take the form of the Golden Hawk and the Divine Hawk, flying freely between sky and earth. Budge notes that the souls of Ra and Osiris appear as hawks in funerary scenes. The lapis tower from which this guardian sees the whole desert is a MYTHENOR creation.
Why it has this power
An epic level 8 Bird of Wind with 2700 ATK and 2500 DEF: the strongest bird of the Necropolis below the legends and rituals. Feather beats Sun and Crown beats Scarab. It makes good use of the Golden Falcon Wings, which add +1000 to Birds: a true guardian of the sky.
Did you know
In Budge's list, the Golden Hawk is the first of the twelve forms the deceased could take through the Transformation chapters.
