The myth

Today the vulture suggests death and waiting, but in ancient Egypt it was above all protection. Nekhbet, a goddess in vulture form, guarded Upper Egypt and, together with the cobra Wadjet, formed the Two Ladies who protected the king. Mut, the mother goddess of Thebes, was also associated with the bird. The vulture's spread wings sheltered kings and the dead in funerary art. This card's vulture, flying inside the sandstorm, is a MYTHENOR creation that blends both readings: the ancient protector and the patient scavenger.

Why it has this power

An uncommon level 4 Bird of Wind with 1550 ATK and 1100 DEF: a lot of attack for its level, like one who waits for the storm to do the work. Feather beats Sun and Scarab beats Leviathan. It is one of the most efficient attackers among level 4 cards.

Did you know

In Egyptian belief, the vulture goddess Nekhbet was a protector of Upper Egypt and of kingship, not an ill omen.
