The myth

This serpent is a MYTHENOR creation. It builds on a real Egyptian idea: before creation there were only the dark, undifferentiated waters of chaos, called Nun, and from them rose the first mound where the creator appeared. In one version of the myth, the serpent Apophis always existed and swam in those waters before the world. Wells, cisterns and the Nile flood were reminders that those waters were still close. The Book of the Dead includes spells to protect the dead from crocodiles and dangerous serpents on the way.

Why it has this power

A common level 3 Serpent of Water with 1200 ATK and 1100 DEF: balanced and strong for its level. Moon beats Wisp and Leviathan, the monster of the depths, beats Fox. A solid early body for Water decks and a patient guard of the well.

Chapters 31 to 42 of the Book of the Dead, in Budge's edition, protected the dead from the Great Crocodile and from serpents such as Rerek.
