The myth

This dragon is a MYTHENOR creation and reflects the region's identity: the game's reinvented Egypt uses obsidian, lapis lazuli, turquoise and gold as its own colors. The night of its birth, however, speaks to a real Egyptian idea: darkness was the dangerous hour when the sun traveled through the underworld, in a barque that also carried the souls of the dead, while the serpent Apophis tried to prevent the dawn. The gods on board, helped by the justified dead, fought so that the sun would rise again.

Why it has this power

An uncommon level 6 Dragon of Darkness with 1950 ATK and 1700 DEF, the strongest dragon of the Necropolis. Moon beats Wisp and Crown beats Scarab. Under the field spell Necropolis Under the Lapis Sky, which empowers Darkness, it gains +500.

Did you know

Egypt has no active volcanoes: the volcano that wept over the desert, from the card's flavor text, is pure MYTHENOR poetry.
