The myth
There are no golden dragons in Egyptian texts; this one belongs to MYTHENOR. The setting, however, is real. In Egyptian belief, at first there were only the dark waters of chaos, Nun, until the ben-ben rose, the primeval mound where the creator Atum-Ra appeared. The pyramids represent that mound rising from the earth toward the heavens, and their tips were the first points touched by daylight. The sun stood at the center of religion: Ra, his morning, noon and evening forms, and his daily journey.
Why it has this power
An uncommon level 5 Dragon of Light with 1850 ATK and 1600 DEF: a leap in strength over the common dragons. Sun beats Moon and Leviathan beats Fox, and its Light element ties it to Kheperu and the Necropolis's solar cards.
Did you know
For the Egyptians, pyramids and obelisks evoked the ben-ben, the first mound that rose from the waters of chaos.
