The myth
Tláloc, “he who is made of earth” by one interpretation, is the god of rain, fertility and lightning, revered in Central Mexico since Teotihuacan. He is recognized by his round, ring-like eyes and his fangs. He kept water in jars inside the mountains and ruled the tlaloque. He gave the rain that grows maize, but also hail, drought and floods. He presided over Tlalocan, the green paradise for the drowned and those killed by lightning. At the Templo Mayor his shrine stood on the north, beside Huitzilopochtli’s.
Why it has this power
A Level 8 Epic with 2850 ATK and 2900 DEF: one of the highest DEF among the Epics, like the mountain that stores the water. Water is his domain; Moon and Crown, the rainy night and divine kingship. He enters the field only through the Rite of the Rain Jars, with Tlaloque, the Lake Texcoco Serpent and the Jade Dragon of the Cenote.
Did you know
Atop Mount Tláloc, over 4,000 meters high, is a sacred enclosure where the Mexica held ceremonies to ask for rain.
