Young Feathered Serpent
Inspired by: A MYTHENOR creation: a young version of the Feathered Serpent. The myths speak of no offspring of Quetzalcóatl.

Its feathers are still short. Its light is already strong.

The myth
The image of the feathered serpent — a rattlesnake body covered in quetzal plumes — is far older than the Mexica. It appears at Teotihuacan, Xochicalco, Tula and Chichén Itzá, where it was called Kukulkan. It joined the earth, represented by the snake, with the sky, represented by the feathers: hence it stood for fertility, rain and rightful power. In the myths, though, the Feathered Serpent is one god, not a species. This “young serpent” is the game’s creation, imagining the symbol before it grew up.
Why it has this power
A Level 3 Common with 1000 ATK and 1000 DEF: perfect balance, like the promise of a power still to grow. Light is its element, tied to the morning star; Sun and Leviathan join the daytime sky to the serpent body. It has no effect, but it pairs with the Templo Mayor field, which strengthens Serpents.
Did you know
At Chichén Itzá, during the equinoxes, shadows on the Castillo’s stairway form triangles of light that look like a serpent descending to the carved head at its base.
