The myth
Beneath the root of Yggdrasil that reaches the frost giants lies Mímir's well, where wisdom and understanding are hidden. Mímir drinks from it every morning and so he is the wisest. Odin went there to ask for a drink but received it only after leaving one eye as a pledge. In the Völuspá, the seeress tells Odin she knows where his eye is hidden: in Mímir's famous well, from which Mímir drinks mead every morning, drawn from the Host-Father's pledge.
Why it has this power
A Common spell that reveals every face-down card on the field. It is the eye left at the bottom of the well, which sees everything: traps, hidden monsters, all that the opponent kept secret. It deals no damage, but information at the right moment is worth an army.
Did you know
According to the Ynglinga saga, Mímir was beheaded by the Vanir, and Odin preserved the head with herbs to consult it.
