The myth
Svartálfaheimr, the home of the dark elves, is where Loki and others go when they need the great smiths. Snorri blends dark elves and dwarves, beings who live in stone and earth and make the gods' treasures: Mjölnir, the spear Gungnir, the ship Skíðblaðnir, the fetter Gleipnir and Sif's golden hair. In the myths the only known artificial creature is the clay giant Mökkurkálfi, made by the giants. The Rune Automaton is a MYTHENOR creation imagining the dwarves' craft bringing metal to life with runes.
Why it has this power
A level 3 Common with ATK 1100 and DEF 1200: a solid guard for the opening of a duel. A Thunder Machine, under Wisp and Hammer, the glowing runes and the forge. As a Machine it completes the fusions that create Naglfar and Thor's Thundering Chariot.
