The myth

Thor, son of Odin and the giantess Jörð, the Earth, is the god of thunder and the protector of gods and humans against the giants. He wields Mjölnir, the hammer forged by dwarves, wears the strength-belt Megingjörð and iron gloves, and rides a wagon drawn by the goats Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr. He lives in Þrúðvangr, in the hall Bilskírnir, with his wife Sif. He was one of the most widely worshipped gods of the Viking Age. At Ragnarök he kills the Midgard Serpent, walks nine steps and falls, overcome by its venom.

Why it has this power

With ATK 3600, Thor has the highest attack of every Norse card; his DEF 2700 is the lowest of the four Legendaries, because he always charges instead of waiting. Level 10, Thunder element, of course. The Wisp stands for the lightning flash, and the Crown for the favored son of the king of the gods and defender of Asgard.

Small hammer-shaped amulets have been found all over Scandinavia, and the English Thursday means Thor's day.
