The myth

Nue is the chimeric monster of the Heike Monogatari. In the twelfth century the emperor fell ill while a black cloud hovered over the palace every night, bringing mournful cries. The warrior-poet Minamoto no Yorimasa was summoned and, with a single arrow, brought the creature down. It had a monkey's head, a tanuki's body, a tiger's legs and a serpent's tail, and its cry resembled that of a night bird called nue, which gave it its name. The emperor recovered, and Yorimasa received a famous sword. By legend, the body was set in a boat and cast onto the river.

Why it has this power

A Rare level-7 Darkness Beast with 2350 ATK and 1900 DEF, fusion only: the Temple-Flame Tiger with any Serpent, the tiger's legs and snake's tail of the legend itself. Darkness and Moon are the black cloud over the palace nights; Fox, the blend of shapes. One of the strongest attackers among beasts.
