The myth

The bamboo-grove wind serpent is a MYTHENOR creation. It combines two strong images of tradition. The first is the divine serpent: in the Nihon Shoki, the kami Ōmononushi of Mount Miwa visits his wife by night and, when seen by day, appears as a small snake. The second is bamboo, a fast-growing plant used to mark sacred spaces with shimenawa ropes and found in Japan's oldest tale, that of the bamboo cutter who finds Kaguya-hime in a shining stalk. The card imagines the wind of a bamboo grove taking a serpent's body.

Why it has this power

A Common level-3 Wind Serpent with 1200 ATK and 900 DEF: swift and slender, strong in attack for its level. Wind is the breath passing through the grove; Feather and Leviathan join lightness to a serpent's shape. It is one of the materials of the Eight Vats of Sake rite, which calls Yamata-no-Orochi.
