The myth

The Pelian ash spear was the weapon of Achilles. In the Iliad, when Patroclus puts on his friend's armor to fight, he takes everything except the spear: heavy, huge and strong, no other Greek could wield it, only Achilles. Homer explains that the centaur Chiron cut the ash on the peak of Mount Pelion and gave it to Peleus, Achilles' father, to be the death of heroes (Iliad 16.140–144). Apollodorus adds that it was Chiron's wedding gift to Peleus. With this spear Achilles killed Hector before the walls of Troy.

Why it has this power

A Common equipment card that gives 500 ATK and DEF to a Warrior or Beast-Warrior. The choice of types follows the myth: the spear was cut by a centaur, a Beast-Warrior, for a warrior. It pairs with Peleus, Achilles, the hoplites and Chiron.

According to myth, Achilles healed King Telephus, whom he himself had wounded, by scraping rust from this spear onto the wound.
