The myth

Typhon, or Typhoeus, was the most terrible monster in Greek myth, son of Gaia and Tartarus. Hesiod gives him a hundred serpent heads with fiery eyes and voices of every kind; Apollodorus says he was taller than the mountains, his head brushed the stars and his arms reached east and west. He attacked the sky, and the gods fled. In Cilicia he cut out Zeus's sinews and hid them in the Corycian cave, until Hermes recovered them. Zeus defeated him with thunderbolts and hurled Etna upon him. From him came the storm winds.

Why it has this power

An Epic level-9 card with 3000 ATK and 2600 DEF: the only Greek level 9 besides Medusa, a challenge even for Zeus. A Wind Dragon, father of the storm winds, he bears the Feather and Crown constellations. He is summoned by the Rite of the Corycian Cave with three storms: the Aeolian Drakon, the Serpent of Boreas and the Harpy Aello.

Did you know

With Echidna, Typhon fathered Cerberus, the Hydra and the Chimera, all of whom appear in this Greek set.
