The myth

The Medjay were a real people. According to World History Encyclopedia, they were Nubian warriors who served as mercenaries in the Second Intermediate Period in a variety of military roles: they began as scouts and light infantry and ended up integrated into Egypt's professional forces, highly valued. Over time, the name Medjay also came to designate security forces. This card's bodyguard, whom no arrow passes before reaching the king, is a MYTHENOR figure inspired by that tradition of elite warriors.

Why it has this power

An uncommon level 5 Warrior of Earth with 1800 ATK and 1800 DEF: perfectly balanced, attack and shield equal, as a bodyguard should be. Sun beats Moon and Hammer beats Bull. With the Ancient Bronze Khopesh it rises to 2300 ATK.
