The myth

Among the nine levels of Mictlán, one of the most feared was Itzehecayan, “the place of the obsidian wind.” A wind blew there so sharp it seemed made of blades, able to strip the flesh from those who passed. For the Nahua, obsidian, itztli, was the stone of blades, mirrors and sacrifice, and the obsidian wind was the perfect image of pain. The sources describe no skeleton guardians on that level: the game imagines someone who crossed the wind so many times that only bones remained.

Why it has this power

A Level 4 Uncommon with 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF: the wind cuts hard, but a skeleton has little to protect. Wind is the breath of blades; Feather, the lightness of air, and Scarab, death that endures. One of the strongest Level 4 attackers in the mythology.

Did you know

In the list of levels compiled by Mexicolore, the fourth is Itzehecayan, right after the obsidian hill, Iztépetl.
