The myth

The coyote was a symbol of warrior ferocity. Among the Mexica, warriors who had captured several enemies could wear a full yellow coyote costume made of feathers, with a crest of quetzal plumes. Long before, at Tula, the Toltec capital, artists made an extraordinary sculpture: a human head emerging from a coyote’s jaws, its body covered in mother-of-pearl shell plaques — the so-called Coyote Warrior, now in the National Museum of Anthropology. A warrior who runs with the pack is the game’s reading of these coyote men.

Why it has this power

A Level 4 Uncommon with 1550 ATK and 1200 DEF: the highest attack among this mythology’s Level 4 creatures, fast as the pack. Earth is the plain; Sun, daylight, and Fox the constellation of the cunning. He gains +500 from the Obsidian Macuahuitl and the Ceremonial Jaguar Pelt.

Did you know

The Coyote Warrior sculpture from Tula was made with hundreds of small shell plaques, a work of great precision.
