The myth

Mictlantecuhtli, “Lord of Mictlán,” rules the land of the dead in the north together with his consort Mictecacíhuatl. He was shown as a skeleton or with a fleshless face, surrounded by owls and spiders. Those who died of ordinary causes went to him on a four-year journey through nine levels full of trials. In the Legend of the Suns he tried to stop Quetzalcóatl from taking the bones of past generations, demanding he blow a conch with no holes. Quetzalcóatl summoned worms to bore it and bees to make it sound.

Why it has this power

A Level 10 Legendary with 3600 ATK — the highest attack in the mythology — and 2800 DEF: no one escapes the end, yet death does not defend, it only waits. Darkness is the sunless realm; Moon evokes night, and Scarab the constellation of what is reborn from the earth. He is Undead, lord of all bones.
